Shiringa organic latex originates in the Peruvian rainforest, extracted by making shallow diagonal cuts in the bark of a Shiringa rubber tree to collect the milky latex sap, then applied to a cotton fabric and dried or smoked for finishing, resulting in a waterproof and warm material. These garments are the result of a long process of investigation and experimentation in the Madre de Dios province, where Mozhdeh collaborates with local families that are guardians of the Shiringa forests.
Shiringa was first introduced in the fashion world by Mozhdeh Matin in 2018.
