Shiringa 2024 Documentary

"In the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, the Indigenous Awajún community makes a bio-leather alternative to animal-derived and synthetic materials from the sap of trees they defend against deforestation. This film follows Awajún women creating shiringa bio-leather with regeneratively collected rubber sap from native shiringa trees, used and cared for over hundreds of years.  The little known material supports a frontline community to protect biodiversity, animals and a longstanding culture."
